Suit Tiles

There are three different sets of suit tiles in a game of mahjong Bamboo, Stones and Character tiles. These tiles are numbered 1 to 9.
The tiles can be collected into sets of the same tile (Pong) or Sequences of tiles (Chow).

Bamboo

The bamboo tiles are numbered from 1 to 9. These tiles are sometimes called Bam or Stick tiles.

Stones

The Stone tiles are numbered from 1 to 9. These tiles can sometimes be known as Dot tiles.

Character

The character tiles are numbered from 1 to 9. These are the actual chinese characters for the numbers from 1 to 9. If this causes trouble reading the tiles, in the settings you can select the English or Default tiles which have numbers that help you play.

Honour Tiles

Honour Tiles include the Winds and Dragons. These are special tiles and can be use to make higher level hands. They can be collected as sets (Pong) or can be used to make special hands such as Wind Snake or Thirteen Orphans.

Dragons

The Dragon tiles are Red, Green and White. Dragon tiles can be collected in sets and will add bonus levels to your hand. If you collect all the dragons, you will earn even more levels, especially if you qualify for Big or Small Dragons Hands.

Wind Tiles

This is an explanation about how the winds work. In a mahjong game, there are Round Wind and Player’s Wind which may give extra level to player.
The wind tiles include the East, South, West and North tiles. These
are called honour tiles and you will get a bonus level when you collect 3 or 4 of either the Round Wind or your player wind. The round wind is sometimes called the “Prevailing Wind”. The player wind is determined in relation to the player who has the dice or “Jong” in Chinese.
The round wind will start with East, for four games, then South
for four games, through to West and finally North.

Flower Tiles

Flower Tiles include tiles four tiles for flowers and four tiles for seasons. The flower tiles include plum, orchid, chrysanthemum and bamboo. The seasons include tiles for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. These tiles are honour special tiles. You have the choice to play your mahjong game with
or without flowers at the start of the entire game. You will get bonus points for having the correct flower or season, or for having no flowers, or all four flowers or season tiles. Having all four flowers and seasons is an instant winning hand.

The number on the flower or season will indicate whether it will give you a point or not. The number corresponds to 1=East, 2=South, 3=West and 4=North. You need to collect the flower and/or season that equates to your Player Wind in order to add extra level. When a flower tile is drawn, it is immediately declared and replaced with a Wall tile, otherwise you may be short in tiles for your hand to win.
